Question:
How can I adjust the instruments touch sensitivity?

Answer:

(manual ref. see “Function / Select Mode”.)

To set the keyboard’s “Velocity Sensitivity” parameter:

    1. Press the Select button. The button light will illuminate.

 

  1. Per the diagram below, strike a piano note from C#1 to D#2 to select one of the Touch Maps, 1-7:

Map 1 has the greatest dynamic range (allows for harder/heavier playing style). Map 7 has the least dynamic range (allows for easier/lighter playing style). The default selection is Map 4.

The Keyboard Touch setting is retained when the power is off.

Troubleshooting

Question:
How can I restore my unit to its factory defaults?

Answer:

There are two methods:

Method 1:

  1. Turn the unit on
  2. Hold the MIDI button and strike the top note on the keyboard (C8) at the same time.

The unit is now reset.

If the unit won’t come up and permit method 1…

Method 2:

  1. Turn the unit off
  2. Hold down the TRANSPOSE, MIDI, and DEMO buttons
  3. Turn unit on
  4. Wait 5 seconds then release all buttons
  5. Press and release the CHORUS / ECHO / SYMPHONIC button
  6. Let the tests run for 5 minutes
  7. Turn the unit off

The MARK 5 is now reset.
