BIO

Halim Yi was born in Busan, S. Korea. She began piano lessons at the tender age of 4 and started playing jazz piano seriously when she turned 22. At 21, a chance trip to a jazz club proved to be pivotal moment in her career. She was so moved by the performance that she decided to major in jazz, entering the Seoul Institute of the Arts at the age of 25 to further her studies while also working full-time as a jazz pianist.

Accomplishments:

• 2022 19th Korean Popular Music Awards Special Category Selection Committee Special Award (Korean Jazz Guardians)
